Joining yoUngers to Develop cOnative method 4 Special Education Needs
JUDO4SEN is a project by Judo Samurai, funded by the Erasmus+ 2024 Programme, aimed at promoting equal opportunities and social inclusion in sport through the application of the conative methodology and the organization of an international Judo event involving young people and athletes from 13 European countries.
Sport is an extraordinary driver of community and participation: the sharing of rules of the game and challenging goals, which can only be achieved through respect for roles and synergy of everyone’s contribution, reflects today’s society, which thrives on the input of individuals, each with their own abilities and characteristics.
In this sense, sporting activity can play a crucial role in social cohesion and the integration of the most vulnerable groups, fostering a shared sense of belonging and participation.
Judo in particular, through the conative method, can be a powerful ally for children and young people with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD).
Physical activity not only strengthens the body but also has a positive impact on cognitive and motor skills, improving concentration, coordination, and self-esteem.
Scientific studies have also shown that adapted Judo practice enables children with autism to improve, albeit slowly and in a non-linear way, their motor and behavioral skills.
